Monday felt like a day of musical chairs, political style: Gov. Bill Richardson is officially out as a candidate for commerce secretary, Roland Burris says he’s in as Illinois’ junior senator, and Al Franken—pending the outcome of some likely legal challenges—is poised to become the next senator from Minnesota. Meanwhile, a new president is set to take office in just another 14 days.
New faces are indeed coming to Washington. But will Washington still be up to its old tricks? Stay tuned to “The Lou Dobbs Show” to find out—and rest assured that Mr. Independent will keep them honest.
Joining Lou on Tuesday in the Independent Nation will be Congressman JIM MATHESON. The Utah Democrat thinks automatic congressional pay raises need to end, and he’s leading the fight to stop them.
Is President-elect Barack Obama’s economic stimulus package what America needs right now? Lou will discuss it with PETER SCHIFF, the president and chief global strategist for Euro Pacific Capital.
And GAYLE KESSELMAN, co-chairperson of New Jersey Citizens for Immigration Control, will weigh in on the possibility that undocumented aliens in the Garden State could soon have “driving privileges.”
As always, Lou will take your calls to discuss the issues that matter most—and to get your thoughts on the direction America is heading. Call him toll-free on the Independent Hotline at 877-55 DOBBS. |
